This is the grand and majestic “ceibo” tree of Costa Rica. Local Pavones wisdom says that these particular trees are the soul’s gateway to heaven. Thus even when all the other trees have been ruthlessly felled, these are often left alone. A baby one is growing at the entrance to Pavones Yoga Center… to transport us on to the next life when it’s time to go.
