Alex and I spent a week with Ram Dass and friends in Hawaii this past May. One day Lei’ohu Ryder, a Hawaiian healer and visionary, invited us to visit a sacred pilgrimage site on Maui. During that excursion to Kukuipuka Heiau, a Hawaiian temple, she shared a vision of her guides and ancestors visiting us in the form of mist. A group of us stood silently at the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific. With the ocean crashing behind us, we watched as a dense fog poured down a mountain top and hovered near. The mist and Lei’ohu’s vision felt true and real and has been that way for me ever since.
This morning marks a transition, the beginning of our down-time at PYC. I hope to spend the rainy season writing, practicing, and traveling some both to learn and to share yoga. I love waking up to morning mist sweeping through the jungle around the open air studio… It reminds me of why I practice yoga.
To all of you who shared space with us here at Pavones Yoga Center, you will be in my heart during this time of introspection. What a gift to share the planet with you in this lifetime. ♥
