Refine Your Seated Forward Folds

When you know how your muscles work in pairs and also against each other, you can use that knowledge to deepen and refine yoga poses and protect delicate joints like the knee and shoulder. Janu sirsasana is a great example of this. This short video reviews techniques and cues that yoga teachers can include in classes to maintain knee congruency through muscular engagement.

I’ve been in yoga teacher training mode since January, and our last advanced yoga teacher training module ended this week. I’ll miss having everyone around, and am looking forward to getting back to writing, and to my personal yoga practice. More soon…
