If you’ve chosen Pavones Yoga Center as your place of study but don’t have the funds to do the training, this post is for you.
Sometimes we get emails from people who are so committed to studying with us, but just don’t have the cash to make it happen. And while we do offer a few spots in our yoga teacher training programs for partial work-trades, yoga graduates of our 200-hour certification have had surprisingly high success rates with crowd-sourcing campaigns. Gofundme is the most popular one, because even if you don’t reach your goal, you still get some donations. Ways to encourage support:
- Have a Clear Intention. Explain why you’d like to complete a yoga teacher certification course. You may want to include ways that your your yoga studies will benefit your local community and places where you would like to teach upon graduation.
- Offer Rewards. You can give donors a free, post-graduation yoga class pass. Offer different levels of rewards for higher donations: multiple or private yoga classes. You can also barter with the skills that you already have to offer whether that means fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies weekly for a month, or web-design.
- Inspire Others. Picking a yoga training amongst the thousands out there is no small task and you’ve likely spent a lot of time on your decision. Link to your place of study, so that people can check the place out. Express why you have chosen to travel to Costa Rica, and why you’ve picked Pavones Yoga Center in particular. Whether you are drawn to the program by it’s emphasis on alignment-based asana, or by the study of ecopsychology in a wild and remote environment, your passion for study and growth will inspire others. That inspiration will draw future students to you post-graduation too.
- Be Proactive. Share your gofundme page on social media outlets and ask friends to help you raise awareness about your project. A yoga teacher certification is an investment in your future, and the future of your community. And one more thing: you can get an additional $400 OFF when a friend registers for the program with you. The first person to register simply type’s their friend’s name into the registration form and you will receive $400 which can be split up in any way, shared with friends, and used either immediately or by 2020.
